I have to confess that I am not happy. A family member won’t get vaccinated and it’s caused a rift in our relationship. Our once relaxing zoom calls explode with anger and resentment. Feelings of abuse, personal violation, and death via vaccine erupt and I am too tired to confront the issue anymore. I am not happy.
What happens when a family member won’t get vaccinated? When you're dealing with someone blinded by excessive stubbornness and past trauma.
“I don’t care what the science says, I know myself!”
she proclaims while comparing opioid pain killers to the RNA vaccine.
or
“If I die from covid don’t worry about it. You will be fine.”
Dictating emotional commandments such that: “You will not feel the slightest grief on the matter of my suffering or passing because I said so…”. In other words ‘It’s not me, it’s you.’ Has “know thyself” gone too far? All I know is I’m tired of pushing this boulder up a hill.
The irony to this dramatic situation is that this family member LOVES WEARING STATMASK. She began wearing masks well before the mandates and plans to wear Statmask well into the future. She talks about it to whoever will listen. Honestly, I don't think I could build a better customer. So where does this take our relationship? Perhaps it’s the ultimate test of our product? For now, I’ll settle with knowing that our product is loved by someone I love.
